Summer Solstice Festival

The Summer Solstice Festival is a community fair held on the Albany County Helderberg Hudson Rail Trail (ACHHRT) to celebrate the longest day of the year and the start of summer. This is the 4th year for the event. Last year's Summer Solstice Festival was a huge success with more than 50 exhibitors and over 1,000 attendees.

The Summer Solstice Festival includes activities, vendors, food, animals, music and more, spread throughout the ACHH Rail Trail in Bethlehem and Voorheesville. New this year is a Hike-a-thon, which will be held on the Rail Trail and in four local nature preserves.

Albany County Helderberg
Hudson Rail Trail

The Albany County Helderberg Hudson Rail Trail is a nine mile stretch of an old D&H rail line running from Voorheesville to the Port of Albany. The Albany County Helderberg Hudson Rail Trail is owned by Albany County and is being developed and operated with the cooperation of the Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy and its Friends of the Rail Trail committee, the Towns of Bethlehem and New Scotland, and the Village of Voorheesville.

Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy (MHLC)

MHLC is your local land trust, working day after day to improve the quality of life for all residents of the Capital Region. The work that we do to preserve the natural spaces in Albany, Montgomery, and Schenectady counties, directly impacts the health of the region. We have protected close to 4,000 acres of land including over 1,300 acres open to the public in the form of preserves – for hiking, cross-country skiing and other educational and recreational opportunities.

The Summer Solstice Festival is hosted by the Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy and its Friends of the Rail Trail Committee.
